BAM 5 & 6 will also be equipped with Detegasa units.

Detegasa has already started the delivery of equipment for the new modular offshore patrol vessels of the Spanish Navy BAM 5 & 6, for which detegasa is supplying the following equipment:

Hydraulic foldable safety nets for flying decks, physical chemical sewage treatment plant with hypochlorite generator, marine incinerator, food waste treatment units, shore connection reels, AFFF fire fighting stations and AFFF hose reels, potable water heaters, fuel heaters, bow thruster cooling modules, waste balling machine and shredder compactor.

These vessels are adapted to different purposes from a common base, manufactured by Navantia shipyard. The BAMs combine high performance with mission versatility, a high commonality with other ships operated by the Spanish Navy. Acquisition and lifecycle costs are reduced.

The BAM’s design is based on an automated platform that features specific military characteristics. The modular design is capable of adapting configurations according to mission requirements. The ship is equipped with a combined diesel and electric propulsion plant. The loaded tip propellers increase speed and reduce noise and fuel consumption.
