Today we have successfully carried out in presence of the Dutch shipowner, the FAT test for this new helicopter refueling system to be placed on board an ocean drilling research vessel in South Africa.
The Refueling System has been certified by ABS and will treat and deliver Jet A-1 fuel to the helicopters. The system incorporates two modules housed in a water proof cabinet. The first module is the dispensing unit which includes several filters to ensure that there is no water in the fuel, a dispensing hose with nozzle and flow meter, whereas, the second module incorporates the pumps.
The vessel is a seagoing research vessel that drills core samples and collects measurements from under the ocean floor, giving scientists a glimpse into Earth’s development.
