DETEGASA strengthens once again its position as a world leader in providing customized solutions for the global waste management onboard warships, this time with the manufacturing contract signing with BAE Systems for the engineering and supply of the Sewage Treatment Plants and Oily Water Separators for the Type 26 Project.

Since 2012 Detegasa has worked in close cooperation with BAE Systems to develop the most suitable solution for the waste treatment, including the manufacturing of a prototype unit for testing according to the specific requirements of the project. The proposals meet the rigorous technical specifications, including acoustic, shock and vibration standards, as well as extreme space and weight constraints.

This new contract will cover the supply of the equipment for the first three Type 26 Global Combat Ships.

The vessels are principally designed for antisubmarine warfare and aimed to replace the Type 23 Frigates. The Type 26 is designed with modularity and flexibility in mind, to enhance versatility across the full range of operations, including maritime security, counter piracy, counter terrorist and humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
